The official festivities to mark the opening of the West Coast Wilderness Trail on Saturday, November 23 will take place in Kumara.

 

The opening ceremony will form part of an all-day celebration in Kumara that coincides with the first anniversary of the re-opening of the Theatre Royal Hotel.

 

Entertainment on the day will include:

 

•    A street parade with marching girls, vintage bikes, belly dancers, vintage and classic cars and Clydesdale horses

•    A vintage bike race

•    Can-Can girls

•    Gold panning

•    Children’s best decorated bike competition

•    Horse rides

•    Activities for children

•    Stalls

•    Food and drink

 

Festivities commence at 10am and will continue well into the night following the official opening ceremony in the town at 12.15pm.
